This distance-taught course is taught in conjunction with the Physiotherapy Acupuncture Association of New Zealand (PAANZ), and is intended to provide practicing physiotherapists with specific knowledge and skills in acupuncture.
The Postgraduate Certificate in Acupuncture provides an in depth and comprehensive postgraduate level qualification in this area of physiotherapy in New Zealand. The programme is a balance of the scientific and traditional principles, clinical skill development, clinical theory, an understanding of clinical reasoning using both the Western and Tradition models of acupuncture, and is consistent with the competency-based standards established by PAANZ.
Teaching will mainly be conducted through a series of seminars/tutorials delivered by remote teaching methods, and each paper includes a residential practical sessions based at the School of Physiotherapy (5 in total).
